1. What is Trenton Plates, The World Takes?

A community-wide day of service bringing Trenton together to fight hunger. We’ll package 285,000+ meals for global hunger relief while also supporting our local community through a day-of food drive with Mercer Street Friends.

Wednesday, September 23, 2026

Multiple shifts from 9 AM - 8 PM
CURE Insurance Arena | Trenton, NJ

3. What volunteer shifts are available?

There are three shifts to choose from. Choose whichever works best for your schedule.
Morning Shift: 9 AM–12 PM

Afternoon Shift: 1 PM–4 PM

Evening Shift: 5 PM–8 PM

4. What will I do as a volunteer?

Volunteers work together to measure, pack, seal, and prepare meals. No experience is needed — instructions and everything you need to participate will be provided.

5. Can I volunteer with a team?

Absolutely. Coworkers, schools, families, friends, churches, community organizations, Greek organizations, and other groups are encouraged to participate together. You can create or join a team during registration.

6. Do I have to donate or fundraise to volunteer?

No. The registration process asks you to enter a fundraising goal, but you are not required to raise or donate that amount to participate. Fundraising and donations are warmly appreciated but not required to volunteer.

7. Can children participate?

Yes. Children can participate with a parent/guardian, school, or youth organization. For larger school and youth groups, adult organizers can coordinate registration rather than having every child register individually.

8. How are we supporting hunger locally?

Trenton Plates, The World Takes will include a day-of food drive in partnership with Mercer Street Friends.Volunteers, teams, and partners are encouraged to bring or donate food to support hunger-relief efforts right here in our community.

9. What should I expect that day?

Expect an active, high-energy day of service alongside hundreds of volunteers. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes and come ready to pack. Instructions and meal-packing materials will be provided.

10. How do I sign up?

Register yourself or your team through the Trenton Plates, The World Takes registration page or access the registration link through the Cross Community website.
